An emotional piece about a conversation between a grandfather and his granddaughter.
Two years ago you spoke of being one hundred
Now it seems life is full dread
As you talk of being tired and want to rest
Made you a promise I would be happy and am doing my very best
Thought there were another twenty years
And after all this talk of being tired all that come are the tears
You are the world to those around
And you will be missed when you go underground
You have had a long and meaningful life
Most of which you have spent with your second wife
Only a few short years ago did we connect
After a lifetime of seeming neglect
Is it because I remind you of wife number one
When the memory should have been done
Remembering all the times that were missed
Feelings of being dissed
Waiting for eternity
Where we can live in a family of unity
May we have better days
And come together as family should even in small ways
With all my love
On the wings of a dove
