An autobiographical piece, of sorts.
She looks like a rainbow and talks like a sailor

Her mind is a maze and her life is a failure

And, if she can, she'll try curing what ails ya

Right or wrong, she's omnipresent

Strayed too many times from the beaten track

With a crown of thorns and a dress of burlap

She's taken a coin from the busker boy's cap

To drop in the church's collection

She plays at philosophy and speaks in tongues

There's water in your heart and blood in your lungs

It's too late to get this tightly strung

She smiles, and the white noise, it stops

Her eyes, they speak, like a cheshire grin

Saying she'll lose but knowing she'll win

Make patience seem like the deadliest sin

And wrath, the holiest virtue

I want to see her dance in the rain

Letting in light but rejecting the pain

Cast away doubts, and fear, and shame

Tragic and so painfully joyous

She opens her eyes to face the gods

The eldest one listens, and smiles, and nods,

And blesses her children with lightning rods

Goodnight, my baby, good night.
