Just a peek inside my head.
I sit and wonder as I wander
Through the open fields of my mind
A single idea begins to blossom
And dig its roots over time
Starting as a simple seed
Planted by want or desire or need
With the power to flourish and spread
Yet it stays planted in my head
Maybe I should form it, shape it, even shout it about
But what if the idea doesn’t want to come out?

Now there’s a question truly amusing
That a mere thought feels perplexed
A concept which is justly confusing
So, I ponder this for a moment
And stumble upon a grand conclusion
It’s the human that made the idea
The human that nurtured the seed
The human that raised it up, willingly
So naturally, I know it should be freed
But the idea isn’t the one lacking in courage
For that blemish is in me

So how does one open the gate
To such a private, insecure place
One I myself barely comprehend
How can I just let the world in?

Piece by piece, bit by bit
They’ll be able to peek at it
Until one day the barriers break
There is nothing forged, nothing fake
So eventually, they’ll finally see
What it’s truly like to be me
