A wilderness of bones
Forever home
In death she remains
In shame I still live
I placed her there
After I throttled my hands
Around her neck
Killer be kind
I do my best to visit her
Alone is a fate
That she does not deserve
I place non indigenous flowers
Upon her shallow grave
For only a few days they survive
For only a few days could she be found
Happenstance waiting upon barren earth
No one comes this way
No one knows these woods like I
As a terrified child
I use to hide out here
It was much safer than my home
Much safer than my skin and bones
No one cared when I was gone
No one ever came looking for me
Her and I met one hot summer
Sweet sixteen’s turning seventeen
First to be late lovers
We quickly turned into fools
She tried to move on
I certainly could not
I brought her out here
Back when she was alive
She loved the trees and screamed
Of what it would mean to be able
To remain in such a beautiful place
I took her words to heart
I buried her under a stand of old oaks
Trees that have been around
Probably since the dawn our time
Trees that hold many dark secrets
Beneath the shade of their outstretched branches
When everything else is gone
I am sure that they will stand
Never again will she
A wilderness of bones
Forever home
In death she remains
In shame I live
I placed her there
Killer be kind
I do my best to visit her
I do my best to let her know
That I still care as I did before
This place is sacred to me
The salvation of what I’ve done
Lays buried deep at my feet
She is free and in many ways
Her and I are still in love
A one sided affair of my heart
Has grown beyond all control
I am sure that she knows
But in death all of our secrets
Will forever be kept
When everything else is gone
Her and I are all that we will have…
