Finding something that was lost for many years.
When Sis was only six years old
she had a Teddy Bear;
He lived contently in her room
upon a rocking chair.

But that was many years ago
and Snicklefritz was lost;
things disappear throughout the years--
sometimes that is the cost.

Yet recently I helped her clean
the attic of her house;
there were a lot of steamer trunks,
we even saw a mouse.

  (He squeaked at me with discontent
  atop a pair of skis;
  I managed to placate him though
  by giving him some cheese.)

I rooted through an antique trunk
with sheets and pillow case;
there was a light blue comforter,
and things of bobbin lace.

Then at the very bottom ‘neath
something crocheted in white,
I found her long lost Snicklefritz,
and that was a delight.

Sis jumped for joy and grinned a grin
and bumped an old coat rack;
she and her daughters are aglow
since Snicklefritz is back.
