Essay to be sent to parents regarding getting a guinea pig. Can you think of good ending?
Mom and Dad:

I wanted to let you know that I have been thinking about guinea pigs lately. And before you turn me down, please allow me to present my argument to you. I understand that you have reasons to say no, but before you do please listen to my side of the story. I think you will be impressed with my knowledge of them, and I hope you will agree that it is a good decision to let me get a guinea pig.

I've done my homework on guinea pigs, and I feel that given the opportunity to care for a guinea pig of my own, I would feel comfortable caring for him. They are fascinating animals, and they seem to express their feelings by squeaks, squeals, and even jumping! They are smart cookies, too. They can be trained to do tricks just as dogs can such as spinning in circles, jumping through hoops, and even shaking paws. They also have the ability to recognize their own name.

An argument you may have is that I would get bored with the pet, mom will end up doing the work, I will abandon other responsibilities, I won't care for my guinea pig regularly, ext. However, I am more responsible than when I was in fourth grade when I had other hamsters and mom ended up taking care of them. And just to insure that I will take care of him, I think that if I do abandon my responsibilities, the best option would be for me to find a new home for my guinea pig. Another argument you may have is that you don't have the money to pay for a new pet+supplies. I have actually added up the cost of supplies and the pet which adds up to $200 dollars, which I have been saving up so you don't have to pay a penny out of your pocket.

Did you know that all animals (that you can cuddle) help decrease blood pressure? They also aid in relaxation and anxiety. I know I would benefit from having a pet of my own. Guinea pigs helps kids of ages 8-14 (That's Me!) cope with daily stress in life. So that means pet= silent therapist. It is also proven that kids with their own pets have improved overall health.
