My version of the I AM poem

I AM

I am imperfect and forgetful.
I wonder what my life could have been.
I hear my thoughts repeating over and over.
I see a glimmer of hope.
I want to walk through heaven’s gates.
I am imperfect and forgetful.

I pretend that I can do all things.
I feel numb to reality.
I touch the water and watch it dance.
I worry if this is all there really is.
I cry when I cannot help.
I am imperfect and forgetful.

I understand life is not fair.
I say things I shouldn’t say.
I dream of a day when I can help others.
I try to think positively.
I hope to keep hope alive.
I am imperfect and forgetful.

Suzi Mee created the "I AM" form. It was created for writers to finish it with their own words. Here is the format.
I AM
I am (two special characteristics you have).
I wonder (something you are actually curious about).
I hear (an imaginary sound).
I see (an imaginary sight).
I want (an actual desire).
I am (the first line of the poem repeated).

I pretend (something you actually pretend to do).
I feel (a feeling about something imaginary).
I touch (an imaginary touch).
I worry (something that really bothers you).
I cry (something that makes you very sad).
I am (the first line of the poem repeated).

I understand (something you now is true).
I say (something you believe in).
I dream (something you actually dream about).
I try (something you really make an effort about).
I hope (something you actually hope for).
I am (the first line of the poem repeated).
