A short poem of a veteran's disdain for the war in Iraq. Written in/for a time of anger.
Intricately placing lives on the line
Rallying for a cause that the people
Adequately express their disdain for
Questioning their own leaders' intentions
Sourly for their lack of compassion

Fights are fought in foreign lands
Redeeming nothing with high expectations
Explaining reasons with riddles and quagmires
Experiencing lies sent for comfort and conceilment
Dooming many to be imprisoned by their own ignorance
Objecting to any wrong doing by their own part
Meaning I'm proud to be an American
