Dreaming of a far away star.
A dreaming heart, with desire in its eyes,
For a bright star, seen in cloudless night skies,
An unattainable beauty, an angel so far away,
Yet for all of this, never does the heart stray.

Fixed upon this star, the gaze it cannot shift,
For all the hopes and dreams, none can mend the rift.
A curse it must be, a self-inflicted scar,
Addicted to this thing, so unattainably far.

A dreamer may, while in feverish sleep,
Wish for things, that could never hope to keep.
A promise was made to self and self alone,
Now the heart grows cold, and slowly turns to stone.

A statue, forever standing upon the shore,
The heart of stone beats forever more,
The sentinal stands, as time does pass him by,
The watchman waits, his gaze locked upon the sky.

Slowly the dreamer will now start to weep,
For surely the dream is all that he could keep,
Forever in the night, the star shows in his eye,
Forever does he dream, as the night does pass him by.
