Just a little blurb about time.
Everyone is always saying "time heals everything" but it really doesn't. Time makes things more complicated, changes everything you once knew to be so second nature to you. Time is a funny thing really, just a measure of daylight and moonlight, repeated. Time ages everything, makes all of humanity and nature lose their beauty. As more and more of it passes, we all have one less opportunity to do the things we really want to do, say the things we really need said. To be honest I'm struggling to think of one good thing time does for us in this world. I guess you can argue that time helps us cope with life's little bumps in the road. But then again, it's not the time itself that helps us overcome our emotions, it's what we do during that time, so doesn't that mean our actions are the cure? Time is something that somebody once thought up, it's not tangible, you can't hold onto it. Memories that are made within time can be held, although still not physically, but in our minds forever, to remind us why we smile, why we cry, who to trust and who to steer clear from. I guess what I'm saying is time is confusing to me. Some days I wish I could fast forward, and some days I wish I could rewind. But most often I find myself wanting to pause time. Things in life happen so rapidly that we often don't have the opportunity to think about the outcomes. But on the contrary, some things in life are so perfect that we often want to hold onto the perfection of that moment and live in its beauty for as long as we can. The problem is, over time, the perfection and beauty of those moments fade. We can never feel exactly the same when we recall moments in our memories, we have a copy of our interpretation of them, but the rush of feelings we get in the moment itself can never be replenished, because time has dissolved these things into nothing special. My message to all of you, is to slow down, and hold onto things as long as possible, because as much as you think it is, i really don't believe that "time is on our side". Time seems to be an ugly character, who needs to slow down his pace and let the rest of us breathe for a while.
