I wasn't quite sure where I was, or when...
Drifter

I wasn’t quite sure

where I was

Or when.

But, I knew where I wasn’t

And that was a start.

The spec in the distance

Grew to be a man

Sitting in the middle of nothing

Or at least on its edge.

“Can I eat it?” the dog asked.

“Not yet,” I answered

“Maybe he knows.”

I asked my questions

And eventually

At our own volition

We moved on.

The dog went back and ate him.
