About a drug user.
Say farewell to the changing tides.
To what you've searched for all your life.
Time to give in, to give up the fight.
All is beauty, all is light.
Burning brightness fills the skies.
Feeling hopeless in the ride.
Sinking further, breathing out.
Just let go of all your doubt.
Darkness floods you once again.
Feeling sickness sinking in.
Only one thought left in your head.
"Commit to the cause, you're better off dead."
You don't have to give in again.
You don't have to live a life of sin.
Tell yourself that it's the last time.
That you'll never touch another line.
But the devil's drug takes it's toll,
As you feel yourself begin to roll.
Tumbling fast in a sea of shit.
Once more you say, "Just one last hit."
You feel as if your losing the fight,
As you give your body up in the night,
To make money for that one last binge.
Is this it? You've hit the fringe?
Your body begind to unbearably shake.
It seems the drugs have seized their take.
Your mind and body beyond repair.
You no longer feel the needle tear.
Twice your age shows in your stare.
This isn't right, this isn't fair.
Sixteen year ago, you were just trying it once.
It was only an attention stunt.
Yet, here you are, out of control,
Losing the fight, body and soul.
The screams in the night no longer keep you awake.
Your eyes suddenly hazy, glazed, and opaque.
And all that seperates you from the hurt,
Is an empty gray stone, and six feet of dirt.
