Little Mary cheers up Santa.
Santa was sad by the promotion girl;
Mary May Place came over with her mom Pearl.
“Why are you sad, Santa, is this some joke?”
“Are you unable to drink any Coke?”

Santa then nodded yet said not a word,
still something in his gift-giving heart stirred.
Since he was touched by concern of the lass;
he tried to ho, but he lacked ho-ho gas.

Mary, though seven, knew this was not right;
she asked her mom and they brought him a Sprite.
Promotion girl disapproved with a stare;
up went her arms as if grabbing for air.

“Here I am promoting Coke, can’t you see?”
“Bringing a Sprite, this is pure treachery!”
Santa eyed Mary and gave her a wink;
then with a hearty “Ho-Ho,” took a drink.

Promotion girl had such egg on her face;
Santa cheered up due to Mary May Place.
Even at seven she knew truthfully,
both Coke and Sprite are the same company.
