I haven’t put pen to paper in quite a while. Here's a poem that come to me recently.
the stillness of my afternoon
broken by the clunking
sound of the washer and
the snoring dogs in the background

my cries and swears
merely faint echos
muffled by
the clunking and the snoring

enjoy the now
no yesterday nor tomorrow
no think just live
accept
the clunking and the snoring

what a gift this moment
engulfed by nothing more
than the sweet song of
the clunking and the snoring
