I wrote this when I was down.
Once in a lifetime
That’s all it takes.
But I lost my chance.
I had faith once,
HA.
Reason took over,
Overpowered my mind.
I started to think,
What will faith do for me?
A chance with hope?
A leap of faith?
Not likely to happen.
The odds are stacked against me.
Then I realized,
Faith won’t put me back in my grandmother’s arms,
It won’t undo my mistakes.
Too much blood was drawn,
Too many wounds to sew back up.
You can’t undo the past,
But,
You can hold your head up high and look forward.
