Confidence in one's ability is paramount, not what envious people think.
By Stanley Collymore

The best and most effective way to deal with ignorant, self-centred,
petty-minded and puerile individuals of no account insanely jealous of the
meritocratic achievements of others, which in a million light years they could
never match themselves; but who, nevertheless, conceitedly in their envious
rage against ability, as they have none themselves, and ably assisted by
their spurious criticisms of things they know absolutely nothing about
is to pre-emptively shoot their mouths off as they love nothing
better than hearing the sound of their own voice, is
not to join them in such a senseless fray
but rather to diligently ignore them in every conceivable way. For
nothing is more likely to drive such people up the destructive
wall of their own stupidity than doing just that, with the
added satisfaction for you of demonstrably by your
studied indifference to them highlighting to the
rest of the world the pernicious antics of
what are basically irredeemable prats.
