My take on the mythology prompt for the Construct Cup.
The prompt for today is Mythology
and I'm wondering what I should write
I know very little about it
and I don't feel like researching tonight.

I have to use the word "scatter"
and so I did it just then
now that that's out of the way
my mythological poem can begin.

I'm glad I'm not Medusa's hairdresser
working with the venomous snakes
although it would be rather easy to curl
but I wouldn't want to iron it straight.

I think I know how Atlas feels
shouldering the weight of the world
I do believe that's harder
than making sure that Medusa's hair's curled.

I know Zeus was the king of the gods
and had quite a few kids who were good
I can see why he appealed to the women
but man, he should have used a hood!

I'd like to take a flight on Pegasus
high up in the sky
but the way my luck has been going
I'd likely fall off and die.

As you can tell, I didn't like this prompt
I wasn't inspired in the least
in fact, I didn't like writing about
the various heroes and beasts
but I've gotten my thirty lines in
so now my writing has ceased.
