I often feel trapped within my thoughts. I find the best way to empty my head is to write
Just a moment longer, please, don’t make me leave here now.

I’m only starting to break free, I’m slowly learning how.

Many times I’ve tried to run, many times I’ve failed.

Sometimes I am overcome; I yearn to be let out.

I’m sorry if I’ve hurt you, my regret for that’s sincere.

But sometimes I can’t take this life; I need to disappear.

You know I didn’t mean them, those awful words I said,

And that I didn’t know about the thoughts inside your head.

You understand my sorrow, my frustration and my rage;

You know I sometimes lose control, you know it’s not a game.

Even after darkness falls and once the storm has passed

I will still be in a cage, trapped within the past
