Hearing how much you miss me makes me wish I hated you.
Every time I think I'm getting somewhere, you knock me back five spaces. I curse the fact that your name is so common every day. Mention of you sends me spiraling, seizing, sitting here silently. Trapped in a time that I can never return to. A time I'm not even sure I'd ever want to return to... The way you patronized me was so beautiful. The way you had the blame permanently branded into my skin... I'll never find that again. That sweet resentment. Taking shelter under your miserable thought bubbles must've been a mistake. And yet, I never expected the rain that they could see coming for miles. Somehow, your smile was enough for me. The whip of your tongue felt better than the bitter solitude in your bed every night. Inches away and I was so alone. You were always there but never for me.
