A party in the office.
I tug at my hair in frustration as I look at the computer screen. I hate Mondays, and I really don't want to be here today. The guy in the cubicle next to me peeks around.

"Hey buddy, I don't want to be here either. It's a job though, and it pays for the food and everything. Might as well just sit back and get it over with. Maybe if we're lucky we can get out of here earlier." I nod, though I'm still not happy about being here.

"Oh, I don't think there will be a problem with that," our boss's secretary pipes up having hear our conversation. I look up sharply at that.

"What do you mean?" She has this scarily excited look on her face and I wait for an explanation with apprehension.

"Didn't you here? It's the big boss's birthday today. There's going to be a huge party thrown for him with cake and everything. You could probably get away with doing nothing today and he would most likely not care." Not working on Monday, and on top of that not getting in trouble for it? I take that.

"You can count me in." She grins wildly at me.

"I knew you would be." Somehow I don't trust that smile, but I'm not about to pass up an office party.
