What we do for love.
Footsteps sounded like thunder against the cold stone floor of the dungeon, creating an eerie setting for the weak of heart. Maya advanced without hesitation into the empty darkness, determined not to let a single thing stop her from her endeavors. She snapped her fingers once, the single short action creating another wave of echoes fading away into the nothingness that dissipated a moment later when a single black candle lit up the room. Its flame sent trembling shadows, drawing strange figures on the walls and illuminating a white circle all around it.  Maya stopped right at the edge. She admired her own work, remembering how the power of the circle had enveloped her at the time then slowly, stepped into the middle near the candle. She placed small jar containing a crimson mixture right in front of her.

-          Soon my love, we shall be together again.

Another snap of her fingers and a large book was now floating in front of her a heavy intricate skull meticulously carved on the cover. She opened it and searched for the right spell then started chanting. A gush of wind announced her impending success, but first there was one more obstacle: the Guardian.  She gaped in at the majestic creature that was now rising in front of her. Its relentless attacks only fueled her determination to reach her goal and soon enough she was panting while the dragon was bleeding profusely, both of them running out of energy fast. With a last effort the creature lunged for her, but as she flicked her hand its effort were rendered useless and it fell to the ground motionless.  A flash of light told her she had succeeded.

-          At last! she reached out for her lover as she crumbled to the ground exhausted.
