A poem that describes friendship that is stronger then family
My friends

Meeting you has enriched
My tedious life
Being able to talk with you and
Knowing others have strife

Knowing that I’m not alone
With my feelings inside
And knowing that I have a friend
With truth I can abide

Every morning I seek each
One out to say hello
And find a hug, and a smile
That keeps me on the go

I cherish each one and feel
Closer then family
Having their friendships
Keeps me from being lonely

Having them in my life is
Such a blessing for me
Feeling their love gives
Me joy and glee

They have no idea how
Close I was becoming
A hermit that could never bloom
Into a person so loving

I never thought that I could be
So loved or cherished
I surely thought I would wither
An quietly parish

Being cast away by the ones
Who were born to love me
Killed my spirit and left me dead
inside as a pile of leaves

Blood is to be thicker then
Water I was told
But the water of friendship
Taste sweeter and bold

I thirst for the acceptance
Of my family members
But have found a group that is
God sent, and better

My heavenly father above
Looked down to see
The hurt in my heart
And the pain done to me

He sent my friends in which
I can trust and confide
And also sent me a truth
And a love of life I can not hide.

I am a better person
Because of them
And all I can find to say is
Thank you friends .
