After losing someone close, regrets and memories come flooding in.
Hi friend, I miss you.
Have I ever told you
Every day I don’t see you, I miss you more?
It’s been rough without you here.

We’ve known each other for a long time, haven’t we?
Have I ever told you
How jealous I was of you when we were kids?
You seemed to have it all.

But middle school was rough for you.
Have I ever told you
I wished I had the nerve to make the bullies stop?
I wasn’t as strong as you.

I wasn’t as strong as you seemed, I guess.
Have I ever told you
How much I cried when you stopped fighting against them? When you found your "solution"?
I guess you never have to deal with them again.

Oh friend, you could’ve moved or transferred schools instead.
Have I ever told you
How much you meant to everyone?
Or how much I wish you were alive to hear me?

Because now that you’re gone, I wish I would have told you.
