We are distracted and need to see past it, this is that thought captured. Miiind Power
Miiind Power

By Nana Aforo

I was inspired at 3:24 AM by something higher and a lump in

my stomach. Bring back the hip-hop, it don't stop. Bring back

the hip-hop, it don't stop.

Stop being a slave to the vanity and dreams of inane celebrity,

this was told to us prophetically but we didn't get it see. Bring

back the hip-hop, it don't stop. Bring back the hip-hop, it don't

stop.

Malcolm said they can't keep you down with education in this

relapsed nation and you've got to be hungry for the information.

Bring back the hip hop, it don't stop. Bring back the hip-hop, it don't

stop.

There's darkness under these sheets while America sleeps be it the

corporations or government officials. Marketers or false evangelistic

arbiters. It's under thin raps and it's our generations job to peel it off

and step towards truth. Bring back the hip-hop, it don't stop. Bring back

the hip-hop, it don't stop.

There's a reason why Dave Chappelle and W.E.B. Dubois left.

You see, THEY came. They cut my people up like cake to give birth

to something elsewhere, Afrique and made my people look like freaks.

Years later we spread; then by chains, today by choice. The dust

settled in South Africa and Ghana so there's that peace and they

left for there because America was broken. But could Dubois come

back today or is America Amerique? No longer visible chains and land

stealing stomping on human dignity. Today it's an assault on the collective

consciousness with the insipid, the stupidity. Pop culture crap making us

dumb when there's real struggle going on. We're clearly hungry so we need

to grow new food for thought. Bring back the hip-hop, it don't stop. Bring

back the hip-hop, it don't stop.

We must raise up and etch thought and actions of peace and commonality

and our personal everyday realities into today's overblown monuments an

idols. Bring back the hip-hop, it don't stop. Bring back the hip-hop, it don't

stop. Think and be free.
