A Great Lakes storm claims another victim (A Rondeau)
And the Steel Dragon sank, crew and all.
The storm, the worst the storytellers could recall,
The roughest seas since yesteryear.
One's like these, the lake-dwellers fear.
These storms aren't infrequent this late in fall.

The kids building sandcastles saw it all.
They were the ones who made the emergency call.
A Sea Knight deployed when it started to clear.
And the Steel Dragon sank.

The Magic Horse had gotten caught in the squall,
But managed to find safety behind a break wall.
Of the Steel Dragon they found only her gear,
And part of the rudder they had used to help steer.
Now there's a statue in the Mariner's Hall.
And the Steel Dragon sank.
