A poem about struggling with addiction.
Pills,
my old friend,
you made my soul smile,
for you I'd walk 1000 miles.

You made me laugh,
and love again,
oh pills,
you are such a sin.

I indulged in you,
you made me whole,
you pushed and ripped your way through my soul.

Needle in my vein,
snort it up and catch a drain,
no more suffering,
no more pain.

You made my body warm,
made me feel so..norm.

Blood drips from my arm,
tell me wheres the harm.

You stole my mind,
my heart, and my life,
I remember I used to be somebody's wife.

Somebody's Mother,
I matter to them,
even though you harm me,
oh my pills I defend.

I don't need you,
my friend,
this comes to an end.
