Just a little poem I wrote
I sit here day by day
Looking through as everyone looks on
I’ve seen smiles
Frowns
Laughter
Crying
And even pathetic attempts at flatter
That will never be said to the person it’s for
Yes I’ve heard it all
Seen it all
I see the masks people wear as they put it on
And take it off
Day by day
I’m always there for everyone
Yet no one
And I’m hardly ever talked to by name
And with no face of my own
I take on the face of others
Reflecting their every day.
