Autumn has always been a woman, to me.
I fear her when she comes
Be it with thunderclap
Or touching Druids with her flaming kiss
I do not fear her touch
Her ever growing bite
I fear her hues
That develop within me, too
I fear her melancholy
I fear it’s stifling embrace
The stories it drowns me in
I fear the romance she offers
In the chill, it’s sizzling heat
And I lose myself so easily
In spices and lovers lips
I am delicate when she comes
And I miss her when she goes
