A strange poem about seeing the ghost of a lady that I do not know.

There by the shore
There in the woods
There down the street
There just beyond reach
Ghost of you
Who exactly
Not a clue
A stranger
Continually in danger
Such a beautiful lady
Auburn hair
An endless stare
Subtle lips
Gracious hips
A soft white tone
The cutest freckles exposed
Nothing
So physically unfrightening
If she were alive
If her form was like mine
I have no doubt
That I’d know her
I have no doubt
That I’d love her
But for all of our time
Both hers and mine
It is I alone
That has been most alive
And she has always been
Unquestionably dead
I don’t know
If she was killed
I don’t know if her death
Was because of a sickness
Or if it was a tragic accident
I just don’t understand
Why it is she remains
What must she finish
What must she make right
Why is she stalking me
Only I can see her
No one else claims as much
When I confess to them
They say that I’m crazy
No truer statement
Has ever been uttered
But sanity nor reality
Has nothing to do with her and I
This is about me, the living
And her, the dearly departed
Ghost of you
What must I do
How can I help you
Or are you all alone
Stuck between two worlds
Floundering between life and death
What will come next
Will I see any other aberrations
In vary states
Of increasing secular decay
Will I be forced to live
With such a clear vision
Of something deemed impossible
Will I ever understand what it is
She is trying to say
Or will I only be a witness
To such a purgatory parade
Of deceased people looking for
Someone to see them as they are
And not as they use to be
Ghost of you
Are you the first of many
Or are you just one instance
Of a man seeing something
Beyond life, but not death…
