Composed after I lost a dear friend. I was doubtful about our relationship then.
All the love that had been lying dormant in me during my years of self exile surfaced in a sudden surge of tenderness. All the loneliness of the world presses upon my heart.

Death of a Dear Friend

How much I desired for him

How much I loved him

But now I don't have...

A single drop of tear to spare on him.

Only a deep sigh from the depth of the heart

Only a pale look on my face.

My dreams about him were sweet

My imaginations were bright

I used to feel joy when I chat...

With him in my mind.

My moments with him were precious

My thoughts were splendid

Yet I don't know how much I loved him.

Yet I don't know how much I miss him.

My mind used to fill with affection

When I watch his cute face with perfection

My hands trembled when I tied a Rakhi

My heart overflowed when I swallowed the ladoo.

Yet I don't know how much I loved him.

Yet I don't know how much I miss him.
