not going back
‘You have to make a choice’ he said with a cat like purr into my ear. ‘You cant hide forever. You have to let them know.’
‘No!’ I screamed as loud as possible. ‘I won’t!’
‘Yes!’ he screamed back. ‘You must!’
‘NO!’ I fell on my knees and prayed that this is just a dream. That none of this is real. That he isn’t doing this to me and I don’t really have to make a choice.
I could feel him take a grip on my soul and squeeze. He was making me suffer and he was enjoying every bit of it.
‘You can’t change.’ He cackled. ‘You will always be the same person!’
‘No!’ I screamed at him again. ‘You are wrong!’
I tried to fight him off. I tried to ignore him. I tried to find the positive path and I just continued to pray. Right now I am praying for strength.
‘Dear God,’ I cried, ‘Please save me from this. I know I am not who I once was. I will not go back! God I pray you hear my cry. Please save me from his torment. I will only follow you. I won’t go back!’
She began to feel like she never had before. She was able to stand tall and face her demon. ‘You have not won this battle devil. God is with me, He will never forsake me. You will only hurt me. He will always love me.’
The devil knew that he had beat. ‘I will come again,’ he said. And at that he took his leave.
‘Your demons will always try to pull you astray but God will always be with you, He will help you. The best thing you can do is pray.’ That’s what her grandma always said.
