Another poem from the times that feel a lifetime and a person ago.
Scream
And scream again,
Scream her name away,
Keeping all the pain astray
Scream like the war fuelled men
With burning demons at bay,
Or drink till, you stagger and sway
Just scream, go scream for me,
Scream for life, scream it all away!

Poised like a dagger above me,
A pendant swings it's arcs
All in reveal for me to see,
Swimming the currents like the sharks.

Made once with some care
Made with intent to share
Treasures from some long sought dare
When we possessed the flare,
And now it's just useless clay
A taunting reminder, of days of care.

It's presence is not tainted
It's face I cannot mar
Remains a reminder of smiles painted
In a bittersweet fresco
On grass and green dry earth,
Maybe days walking along the tar
And all this time,
I'd thought it was love's new birth
But a fresco choked cold with grime,
As a chime struck the end of love's time.

Or perhaps there were no clocks,
The chime just a rhythm of the heart,
Skipping strokes of this bad art
Drooping limply, men on the stocks.
