Who use to be
Only I can see
Blind are those
Who still refuse belief
They had a chance
There won’t be others
They have moved on
While I have remained
This place is home
Another ghost
Once so alive
Now abundantly free
What a dream
A pseudo nightmare
Could I ever wake up
God I can only hope
I’m not sure that I
Can take much more
Further impossible
This has all become
With eyes open wide
I have come to understand
With every page
I speak my peace
I say what others won’t
I hold my own hands
To the searing flame
Through my experiences
I know not to move
I just take it all in
Every terrible second
Fuels the echo of my heart
It beats against a wave of time
It fights such an impossible war
Even if I’m not interested
In continuing on it does
Another ghost
Adding to the collection
Relics of the limited past
I cannot change them
Nor can I change myself
I can only face them
See them for who they are
And what they have become
I have never had any real choice
I must see and understand
What is deemed impossible
I must face it as the reality
Of what has happened to those
Once so deeply loved
They are gone and I remain
Suffering as I do
In such a way…
