Don’t Open that Door

He followed her into the dark room, quietly so she would not suspect he was there.  “Kelsey, don’t you dare open that door,” Screamed Joseph!  “Do you have any idea what would happen?”

“Joseph you are always so scared.  Why what would happen?”  Kelsey proclaimed back with sarcasm.

“You know what’s back there and we can not afford to let it loose,” Joseph cried.  “We would have no escape, no where to hide, no where to stop the force coming down on us with a vengeance.”

“I swear you are such a wimp.  Am I the only one with any nerve?” Kelsey screamed back.  Her face was getting red and her hands began to ball up into fists.  “You are always so cautious and afraid of getting caught.  Oh Boo little baby Joseph, getting scared.  Grow a pair you freaking little wimp.  I am opening this door whether you like it or not!”

“What are you guys doing,” asked James walking in behind them?  “You both are so loud, what’s with all the screaming?”

“Joseph won’t let me open the door, he’s too scared,” mocked Kelsey in her sarcastic tone.  “I want to see what’s back there.”

“Are you an idiot Kelsey!  If you open that I want no part of it.  Keep me out,” James proclaims.  “I’m with you Joseph no way do I want to see what’s back there.”

Just then a door slams behind them.  The three of them jump scared and start to panic.  “Great you idiot now we are going to get it,” Joseph said to Kelsey.

As all three hit the doorway they stop.  Standing in front of them was a giant chest and a face looking down at them with the large scowl.  “What are you kids doing in my bedroom,” their father said in a low gruff voice.  “Were you in my closet?”

“No dad honest,” all three proclaimed in unison.

“Go to your rooms,” said the father.  “Don’t you dare show your face for the rest of the night!”

“You know the gifts are wrapped,” said the mother walking up behind.

“I know they couldn’t see anything, but let them believe how close they were to seeing what they got for Christmas,” the father said hugging his wife with a smile.
