Just a brief account of my experience donating

Got a letter in the mail (or inbox) at the office informing me of MD Anderson's Blood Drive.
Did you know a pint of blood can save 3 lives? Neither did I until I was informed of this and though
my work schedule was pretty busy, the kind folks at Anderson had set up shop in my office, which made it feel a bit like vicariously murdering people if I refused. My co-worker Kiesha urged me on, she was going down too. Most of the office was in fact, except for Gina ,who has an irrational fear of needles, but Gina's very kind and sweet so we will pray for the poor souls she sacrificed on that day.
Didn't stop Kiesha and I from teasing her by making mosquito buzzing noises and poking her arm with index fingers.
I didn't think much of it until a few weeks later when I got a letter in the mail (my "real" mail box). It was from MD Anderson and had the blood drive logo on it. My heart must have skipped two beats as it fell into my stomach. What could it mean? Was it hepatitis? HIV? Chlamydiae? Oh GOD please just let me have chlamydiae! (Admittedly words I'd never thought I'd utter). Turns out it was standard practice. The letter listed my blood type, thanked me for donating, and informed me of the date I would next be able to donate again.

Perhaps I will, if I'm not feeling too murderous.
