A HARD PLACE

I've cried the tears and done the time,
And I wondered, where was love?
When all my world around me fell,
I got answers from above.

I hit the bottom and I stopped,
My heart sought a safer space,
And that's when I found hope again,
'Tween a rock and a hard place.

So now the journey starts again,
I no longer want to roam,
I see the door is open wide,
Lord I just want to go home.

Tobacco Road has lifted me,
And it let me once more breathe,
But the Queen City calls my name,
So I'll pack again and leave.

And once again the journey starts,
I no longer want to roam,
I see the door is open wide,
God I just want to go home
