A short, twisted flow poem about placing my past in the deepest hole that I can dig.

In this hole
Down you go
A thousand stones
Upon
Two hundred and six
Broken bones
Added weight
Excessive injury
All meant
To keep you there
My way
To always be sure
No effort spared
Every secret dared
Buried deep
Inside your heart
Utterly destroyed
Within your mind
Once, in another time
I was your victim
Now it is you
Who has been victimized
In this hole
You’ll never escape
No one will find you
Alone you will always be
A rotting pile of dust
Will not reduce
Who you once were
And what you have done
In this hole
Deeper and deeper
Does it fall
Impossible is the depth
Certain is the madness
At an unobtainable end
You will always wait
I have placed
This world above
Down upon you
Your bones
Your crippled soul
And what you and I know
In this hole
I will always keep you
In this home
That I’ve made for you
Forever you’ll wait
Mired in your
So very much deserving
Cruelest of fates
When I’m done
Placing everything I’ve got
I’ll leave no obvious stone
No marker to honor
Your life and or death
No way for anyone
To ever really know
I will leave no sign
Of my labored goal
But be assured
Where you are
In this hole
I’ll alone
Always know…
