Hitchhiking-What happens when your car breaks down
Entry for the writer's cramp

Hitchhiking

Caroline Scott

"I should've checked how much gas was left." Caleb mumbled to himself, looking at the broken down 1982 Volkswagen Beetle on the side of the road. It had run out of gas about two miles from his destination.

"I guess all that's left to do now is hitchhike." He said, after calling AAA for the third time and getting no answer. He stuck his thumb out and watched as three or for cars wheezed by him. It wasn't until the fifth car that it pulled over.

"Need a ride?"

Caleb's heart beat wildly against his chest.  He didn't know the woman in the driver's seat, but he did need a ride. He nodded

"Well, plop yourself in here." She said, patting the passenger seat beside her. Caleb numbly opened the door and sat. After buckling his seat belt, he shut the door and the woman began driving.

"So, where ya headed?"

"Frankfort" he said

"Ya won't make it." The woman said

He opened his mouth to ask why, but upon turning, he saw the woman's fangs.

That was the last thing he remembered.
