Can we ever really please each other?
If I were what you wanted me to be
Would you really be satisfied with me?

Would you really be my friend?
Always, forever, until the end?

Would you really have no complaints?
Would you really not set any restraints?

Would you always try to understand?
And lend a sympathetic helping hand?

I know you won't even give it a try
You'll find other flaws and make more lies

It's not just you, human nature makes us so
Please let me be, just let these thoughts go
