Homeless.........
As the sun sets....
I ask myself once again
The same questions I asked last night
And the night before..
Where will it be tonight?
How will I keep warm tonight?
As I look around
I ask myself once again
Where did this nightmare begin?
When will it end?
These aching pains I feel all over
From tensing my body through the cold night
And sleeping on hard surfaces
I wish I knew how lucky I was back then
At least I had a bed to lie in
And blankets to keep me warm
If only I was warned
I would have said a prayer each day
"Please God don’t take my roof away"
"Please God don’t make me homeless"
If only I had known back then
As the sun sets.....
I pray once again
For the same things I prayed for last night
And the nights before
"Please God don't let it rain"
"Please God make it a warm night"
"Please God if possible take me back to back then".....
