A sonnet about writer's block
What I wanted to write kept me tossing and turning all night.

Tradgedy, sorrow, misery today on my left;

Tomorrow pleasure, joy and fun on my right.

Words and phrases flow with ease and deft.

Between two pillows I sink my weary head.

I kick my feet and heavy covers doff.

I close my eyes as I plung into my bed.

As I start to dream... the alarm is going off!

Before too long, my wife has yelled: Get up!

So I stumble an hour early down the stairs,

My pen and pad and favorite coffee cup

Are all I need to write of my affairs.

It seems so smooth -- then I hear a song.

Forget it all -- I was dreaming all along!
