Music can weave their own story and bring you in its world.

A Song to Play

Fingers hover above the keys, listless.
Pure white and ebony,
opposite worlds could intertwine to create harmony.
Absent-mindedly
I press the keys
making the piano
hum.
A chord releases the first
notes of a familiar tune.
Never-ending
melodic stanzas
fill the air.
Fast fingers collide
with Billy Joel.
The rusty pedal
keeps up
with the cacophony
of sounds.
D Sharp is not
far behind,
yearning
to be played,
but waits in silence
until,
the pitch screams
for perfect timing.

The song captures my soul,
bringing the Piano Man out of the bar
to sit
and sing
beside me.
