Part two of "Paving our new map".
I lay out these pages, tore from tire marks.
Such time and devotion we sculpted a piece of art.
Memories once warm that wrapped my soul so tight,
now that lay in a stack of pale white.

Navigating these pages as they are seared in my mind,
Sheets to the wind I adjust my soul.
Gaining distance is no matter here nor there,
I can’t escape love’s grasp.

Touching ink to once our pages,
now only single stains of time.
I draw up our landmarks,
and submit our map into history.

As we paved our map though time and space,
memories that can’t ever escape.
founded mountains of intimate details,
we crossed great lakes of passion.

Deepest oceans of questions I move through wearily.
Diving deep beneath the waves of regret and self hate,
I quest for such answers to life’s great gift.
A gift of both great happiness and also great loss.

Untouched and cold,
darkness and unknown.
My penmanship will light my way,
though a new chapter of life.

Seemingly without progress upon great crashing waves,
only looking back to adjust to life’s wind.
I keep my head high in search for solid ground.
With the sight of birds by day and the great stars at night.

The details of our fate have brought us here,
its time I find a new path, one with two less prints.
Time to start shading this paper with ink,
instead of waiting for what fate has down wind.
