Everyone
All of it
And none
We make no difference
Not a damn one
Upon the shoulders
Of those that have come
And those
That have ever been
We have failed
Fallen hard
Down upon the sword
Continually dying
While we are
Further fighting
At denying fate
And the cruelness
Of its slighted hand
Thus
Our last words
Should have been
Something inspiring
Something profound
And inquiring
But instead
What was said
What was lent
Was just stupid
Ignorant
And then some
Those who heard it
Those who have lived it
Are all gone
Those that remain
Those unchanged
Those all the same
Like to think
They are special
When special
Is what they are
Least of all
As one before
As one once more
As a person both
Existed and existing
To them I say
To them I confess
Screaming it
At the top of my lungs
We make no difference
None
Not a God damn bit
Our lives
Obscure relics
From a time before
Our existence
Mind-numbingly
Incoherent
By blood we are related
Via our souls
We’ve become inflated
Our false hopes
Sit upon the chest
Of a god
Long since departed
Left to our devices
Banished to our decisions
Freewill is both an escape
And our internal prison
We are doomed
By every decision
We make
Or fail to embrace
We are fools to think
That what we do
And why we are here
Truly even matters
It does not
You
Me
Everything
Everyone
All of it
And none
We make no difference
I said it
I live it
And so do you
Maybe I know
Maybe I understand
Maybe you don’t
Or just won’t
None of it is relevant
None of it holds weight
Everything outside
Our bodies and minds
Cannot be bothered by time
It is not subject to demise
Material
Matter
Energy
Forms of light
Forms of darkness
Epicenters of madness
Quadrants of civility
All and none of it
Just paints
Upon the canvass
Characters set to play
If need be
Stand-ins
Are always available
Willing participants
When and if
We are not
We make no difference
Not because we wish so
But because someone
Or something else does
What
Who
How
Again
Matters none…
