This poem addresses my own insecurities. It is coming from a personal standpoint.
"Self Hindrance"

Why do I tend to hold back?

and let inadequacy take control.

Instead of rising to the challenge,

I shrink back in fear of the unknown.

I wish I could ignore that voice,

that ignites my self pity.

Instead of embracing the truth about myself,

I buy into its lies and trickery.

I know I'm equipped for the impossible,

I've been completely set free and cured.

I just wish my actions reflected,

With what my heart and mind assure.

I'm grateful to have a God though,

who loves me just as I am.

Even when I'm hopeless in my goal,

He gives me the courage I need to withstand.
