a poem about emptiness.

She stares at a blank screen,

With a million facts running through her head.

The assignment is due tomorrow

And she just sits there, with nothing to say.

She's supposed to write about herself,

Her story, her life,

But she feels like she has no story and no meaning to life.

Nothing to write.

Nothing to believe in.

Nothing special about her.

She has no parents.

Yet she's the oldest of four.

Her dad is in jail, and her mom

Is on the streets.

She tries to write about herself,

But just erases it all.

Nothing to write.

No one to love.

No meaning in life.
