A slightly formidable poem that expresses feelings through metaphors.
[Introduction]
The words prick at my toes and gnaw on my fingers
It doesn't matter.
The pain is unwelcome as it still lingers,
Knocking on my door
It doesn't matter.
They seep through the hidden cracks and burrow in for a winter's stay
Perphaps even through May
It doesn't matter.
I can't keep the cold out forever.
But it doesn't matter.
I've become too numb to tell.
