A life like mine in the one constant thing that I know, it will never change.

Forever enshrined
Doing hard time
An animal in his cage
There will be no escape
No early release
Good behavior
Is no option
There is just inside
And out
Nothing between
Still permanent
Born into chaos
Brought up in madness
Lent to the wickedness
Of our species
I’ve done terrible things
Most for survival
Some to feel alive
Holding me here
Justifiable indeed
No one has ever said
I’m proud of you
No one ever confessed
I love you no matter what
No one has ever claimed me
As flesh and blood
I’ve been alone
From creation
Though gestation
Beyond indoctrination
And now incarceration
I have no one to call mine
No other beings alive
To come here and say
You will live to see
Another day
Outside this prison
This gated residence
For hopelessly insane
Madmen with agendas
Written in flesh and blood
Still permanent
I will never see light
Only darkness
I will never feel warmth
Only bitter cold
I will never hold
Any person close
I am too much of a risk
Forever enshrined
Doing hard time
An animal in his cage
There will be no escape
No early release
Good behavior
Is no option
There is just inside
And out
Nothing is in between
Still permanent
That is the way it is
The way it has been
It will never change
As long as I’m living…
