Chapter 30: The Interview Part 1
Chapter 30: The Interview Part 1

The day had finally come. It had taken several pre-interviews, all done over the phone on a line Liz was sure was secure. The interview would take place at the ship yard where she had first tested her amazing Mega Woman strength. The area had been secured for several miles to ensure no one else was allowed to photograph the interview or the displays of power Mega Woman had planned.

Liz parked her car at the abandoned warehouse she used when it was time to turn into Mega Woman. She checked her phone and sighed. It had been a week since she had heard from Tom and she was hoping he would have called her or sent her a text message wishing her luck.

“Guess he still needs time,” she thought as she got out of the car ad removed her cloths, exposing her Mega Woman costume. She closed her eyes. “I AM THE DIVINE!”

Everything was ready. The crew, who had all signed confidentiality agreements were anxiously waiting. Mega Woman was supposed to arrive in five minutes.

“Everything ready?” Alex Bishop asked. The interview was supposed to be done by Brian Williams, but with all his recent trouble Alex had substituted at the last minute. He had done his homework though. He had watched almost every video there was of Mega Woman, and while he had never met her in person, he felt like he knew almost everything he needed to know. All he had to do now was wait.

“There she is!” a producer said as she pointed to the sky. Alex looked up and had to stop his mouth from dropping. A super large human with her arms out was slowing descending in front of him. “She is MUCH bigger in person,” he thought as Mega Woman landed.

“Mega Woman I presume?” he said as he extended his hand. Mega Woman smiled and took his small hand in her giant paw. She lightly shook it. “Mr. Bishop, so nice to meet you in person,” Mega Woman said. “Is everything ready?” she asked.

Alex blinked a few times as he felt the raw power of her giant hand and thick fingers. “What..oh, oh yes, of of course. Please,” he said as he pointed to a large chair. “Should be to the specs we agreed to. Should hold your we…er…muscles,” he said.

Mega Woman nodded and sat down in the chair. “Whenever you are ready Mr. Bishop. I have been looking forward to telling the world about myself.”

“Well here is your chance,” he said as he turned to his crew. “Ready?”

Most of the crew were in awe. There was something about her, her muscles, her height, her utter and total confidence. Most of the men had to try and hide the fact they had huge boners. Everyone on the crew nodded.

“And five, four, three, two one,” the director said as he pointed to Alex.

“Good evening America, I am Alex Bishop. Three weeks ago the world was stunned with a super powered girl appeared and saved a town from a sure train disaster. Since then, the super woman called Mega Woman has been doing good deed all over the city, and the nation. From saving children from falling from a car that wrecked on a bridge, to stopping local rapes, to lifting amazing things over her head with ease, Mega Woman has caused a global stir. There are websites dedicated to her both good, and bad, with several new ones popping up calling her a God, and dedicating a new religion to her, Megadom. Well tonight, we will hear from Mega Woman herself, and see what she thinks of all of this. Friend or foe, we will find out tonight on this very special live edition of Dateline.”

The camera turned off for a commercial. Alex turned to Mega Woman. “Was that okay?” he asked.

“Yes Mr. Bishop, very good,” she answered.

Alex smiled. “You can call me Alex Mega Woman,” he said.

She nodded approvingly. Soon the camera light was back on.

“Mega Woman, glad to have you here.”

“Thank you Alex. I’m happy to be here, and happy to answer any and all questions. Like we agreed, nothing is off limits,” Mega Woman said.

“Good. Well, for starters let’s get the more ridiculous questions out of the way. Are you an alien?”

Mega Woman laughed. “No Alex, I am not an alien. I am not a comic book, I am a real life human being, born and raised right here on planet earth,” she said.

“Ok. Then how do you explain your amazing abilities? The theories go from a government experiment, to radiation exposure, to alien influence to specialized medical treatments. Which is it?” he asked.

“Well, I don’t want to give too much away,” Mega Woman started.

“Is that to say you have a secret identity? Are you a mere mortal that walks among us at one minute, and then, somehow, transforms into a muscled super woman the next?” he asked, his interest peaked.

“Here is what I can tell you. No, I wasn’t born with these muscles….these….powers. I was human, mortal, just like you Alex. While I don’t want to get into what happened, recently I was bestowed with these gifts, these, muscles this…power. It is the power of the divine, a power of ancient origins,” she said.

“Divine power? Does that mean you think of yourself as a God? As many of those on the internet suggest you are?” he asked leaning forward.

Mega Woman did not want to get into this item this soon in the interview but she had no choice. “Look, there is no doubt that these powers I have my mega powers, they are god-like. I don’t think anyone can argue with that,” she said.

“I agree. So that begs the question, are you a God or not?” he asked bluntly.

“It is not for me to say whether I am a God, or Goddess or not. If people believe me to be such, I cannot stop them,” she answered. “But please know this, whether people think me a Goddess or just a super woman, I vow to use my incredible gifts and powers to help humanity. I only want to help.”

“Very well. So, let’s talk about these god-like powers of yours. First off, your strength. We saw you lift that train, which was 250,000 pounds and you did it with one arm. Was it heavy?” he asked.

Mega Woman laughed. “Ha! No Alex. It was not hard at all. Like lifting a piece of paper, easier actually,” she said.

“Um….okay,” Alex stammered. “So then, let’s talk about the boats behind you. You have already admitted you stacked that one carrier on the other, correct?’

“Yes, and I apologize to the Navy for that. I was testing my limits. I actually lifted that old carrier…with one hand,” she said as she smiled and flexed a bicep.

“Ha!” Alex laughed. “I thought you said with one hand!”

“I did Alex. And again, it was not hard.”

“That carrier weighs 93,450,000 pounds. Please tell me it was hard for you?” he asked flabbergasted.

She smiled and unflexed her huge bicep. “Not at all,” she said.

“So that begs the question. Just how strong ARE you?” he asked.

“Don’t know. So far, nothing has tested me at all. Let me say this. I don’t think there is anything on Earth that I can’t lift, smash or crush with relative ease Alex,” she added.

Alex gulped in hard. There were several seconds of silence.

“Alex? Still with me?” Mega Woman asked.

“Huh…oh, yes…I, sorry. That last statement, that you can lift anything with ease, it, it is a bold statement, and one that is hard to digest,” he stammered.

“Just my opinion,” Mega Woman answered. “Any other questions?”
