short story
In a small town of Oregon, there were only about three hundred people. Everybody knew everybody, their family, business. Neighbors were friendly and all the houses looked the same. Each day followed the other in the same practical routine. It was actually quite dull in this suburban jungle. There was only one thing in town that cleared the grey and can somehow brighten the atmosphere. Can as is if make the whole world exuberant. Her name was Lucy, just saying her name made boys melt like hot butter. She caught the attention of any wandering pedestrian or friendly neighbor. She stood out some way, perhaps it was her dark ebony hair, or her wicked green cat like eyes. Although, she's a very shy introvert, but pleasant to be around. It wasn't just her looks, it was also, simply, her presence. Whatever it was it stole the sight from everyone. You would think a pretty girl like Lucy , often got asked out on dates by frivolous, immature young men, well she did all the time. Every time Lucy would turn them down. She never meant it in a rude way, she was just shy. Eventually Lucy grew lonesome and craved to share something with a partner. One day when walking home, she locked eyes with a charming young man, who looked so familiar, like she knew him. Later that night Lucy's phone started to ring, when she answered another voice on the other side spoke like silk. "Is that lovely Lucy I'm speaking to," the voice asked. "Err yes, whose this," she wondered. "Just an old friend. Would you like to stop by my place and catch up?" The voice sounded confident. "Excuse me who is this," Lucy started to sound more irritated. It turned out the smooth voice on the phone was the young man she saw in the street. He was a boy from her high school, Aaron, who asked her out on many times her junior year. To football games, socials, even the prom. She almost felt bad all the times she had rejected him, so she decided to give Aaron a chance. By the end of the conversation she had his address down and plans were formally made.
That Saturday night Lucy left her apartment and headed to Aarons. His place was nice, his elegant personality matched his dor. "So my lovely Lucy, how have you been?" Aarons smirk was intimidating. "You finally decided to give me a chance?" There was a hesitant pause. "Uhhm, can I use your bathroom," she could feel the sweat forming off the back of her knees. "Of course," he chuckled, "down the hall on your left." Never had Lucy been so nervous, and uneasy. She walked down the hall and saw two doors. Which one is the bathroom she thought. On impulse she grabbed the first one..., but soon regretted it. Behind the door Lucy discovered something horrifying. Every inch of the walls and ceiling were covered of pictures of Lucy. Each one was in a different angle, and at a different location and Lucy never noticing the picture being taken. It was a stalkers room. Eyes wide open she gaped at each wall, all smothered of pictures of her some had her eyes scratched out or her face with a red x over it. She forgot how to use her legs or even breathe for that matter. "Are you alright in their?" The charming psycho questioned. She didn't answer, she just stared at the words written on the wall, "my Lucy in the sky."
Footsteps were echoing down the hallway, getting closer. "He's going to notice I'm not in the bathroom", she thought. Lucy has never been so scared, instead facing her stalker, she thought fast on her feet. On the other side of the room was a window cracked open. She did the rational thing and hopped out.
